I found this week's assignment to be very challenging. Not because of the assignment itself, but mainly because of the character I chose. Captain Nemo. A character seemingly from a bygone era. Capturing that kind of a character's likeness into a weapon that they would use is very challenging. There wasn't much online reference other than stories and legend to use. So a lot of the reference had to be sourced from the mans life story as well as his personality and interests. Nemo was a intelligent royal native of India that had much education in the Victorian Era Britain during his youth. He excelled in nearly everything that he did, but found interest in art, art history, world cultures, as well as science and many others. With this information alone I chose to design the weapon with steampunk and sci fi themes in mind. I felt that with the scientific brilliance of Nemo with his ship the Nautilus and his love for art, an advanced ornate steampunk hand cannon or rifle would hold true the characteristic of this legendary antihero.
